Nausin Family Life Center
The future for Tanque Verde Lutheran Church is extremely promising. The growth we have enjoyed over the last few years is just a hint of what's in store. We have been blessed with a vision of what we need to do to spread the blessing of Christ to our members and the community around us. All we need is the space and commitment to do it. Our new Family Life Center will allow us to expand our ministry and create an atmosphere that will include something for everyone.
The Family Life Center and the Administration Building Expansion has been completed!!
With our new facilities:
- We provide a facility that will enable us to increase the number of programs to our Members and enlarge our outreach to the community.
- We have increased the space available for large gatherings by adding a large multipurpose room/gymnasium.
- We have increased our educational classroom space by adding at least four 800-sq. ft. classrooms that can be divided into two classrooms each for an additional eight classrooms. These rooms are used for a variety of purposes including Sunday Morning Life, committee meetings, preschool activities, arts and crafts lessons, and other church activities.
- We provide a space for youth to gather on the east side. The lack of such a place is the number one complaint among our young people. The FLC also provides a room our young people can call their own. A home away from home allows them the opportunity to have far more after-school activities here than they do currently.
- We have increased our storage space by adding storage rooms around the building and by adding cabinets in each classroom.
- We provide a building that is used as a retreat center for such activities as Cursillo and Tirosh.
- We have made the FLC available to the local community for various functions. There are basketball and volleyball leagues, group gatherings, concerts, classes, etc. using the facilities. These activities provide income to help offset the cost of maintaining the building.
Our Dedication for the Family Life Center was held on April 2, 2000.
In July 2002, the Family Life Center renamed to
