Bev Pruden
Coordinator of Caring Ministries
e-mail
I am so happy to be serving the Lord at Tanque Verde Lutheran and have
been blessed all along the journey that has brought me here. I was born
and raised in Tucson, one of six children. I went to college at the
University of Washington and earned my degree in Public Health in 1983.
Soon after, my husband Rob and I were married and started a family. Our
three children are now practically grown and gone: Alex recently
graduated from West Point, Chris is attending the U of A, and Jaimie is
in her senior year at Sabino.
We have been attending TVLC since 2005, and I enjoy working in the area
of the Caring Ministry. It gives me many opportunities to get to know
and appreciate the wonderful people in our faith community and to see
how God works their lives and mine. Other interests include cooking,
hiking, sewing, and time-sucking games such as Sudoku.

I am an Arizona native and have lived in Tucson since January 1981.
I've been a member of TVLC since 1985 and have enjoyed many volunteer
activities over the years. Presently I volunteer in the library as a
storyteller, assist with communion, am a lay reader, sing in the choir,
and assist with the coffee on Sundays after church. I am also
privileged to lead the Reformation Ringers. What a great group!
I've always enjoyed music and earned a BA in music education from ASU in
1969. I also earned a BS in nursing from U of A in 1983 and worked as a
registered nurse at TMC for several years before taking time out to be
at home with my family. I have two daughters, Heather and Jonelle.
Most recently I have been teaching 1st and 2nd grades at Faith Lutheran
Church. Starting in August 2005, I will be the new kindergarten teacher
here with our Preschool & Kindergarten program.

Robin Abbott
Preschool Director
e-mail
Robin is a native Tucsonan who has attended and ministered in El Camino
Baptist Church for most of her life. She graduated from the U of A with
a bachelor’s in Elementary Education and received her masters from NAU
in Educational Leadership. She has taught every grade from kindergarten
through 12th grade in her 20-year teaching career. She has worked with
preschoolers at El Camino Baptist since high school. Ten years ago the
Lord called her to leave her secure job in TUSD and move to Oaxaca,
Mexico as a missionary teacher to missionary children. One of her
spiritual gifts is the gift of service. Through that gift the Lord used
her to minister to many people in Oaxaca, both missionary internationals
and Mexicans, through various avenues. In the fall of 2008 the Lord
called her to return to Tucson to live and work and has given her the
opportunity to minister as the director of Tanque Verde Lutheran
Preschool and Kindergarten. She is so excited about the upcoming year
and is looking forward to all the Lord has in store.
