We are excited about our Kindergarten curriculum! It will include Language Arts (Reading/Writing/Literature/Phonics), Science, Social Studies, Math, Health/P.E., The Arts (Music, Drama, and Art), and Foreign Language (exposure to Spanish). The 'Desert' will be our central theme for the year and will be interwoven throughout the curriculum. It will be incorporated in our Language Arts (using The Jolly Phonics Curriculum, making individual books, Creative writing), Math (Using the Saxson Math Program, along with number and counting activities), Science (Ecology, water conservation, rocks and fossils, plants and animals), Health (sun safety), and Social Studies (Arizona Native American culture, United States and the World). A Field Trip to the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum will culminate our year. We will be using the D'Nealian (Modern Manuscript) method of writing. We follow State guidelines for our curriculum.
