Weddings at TVLC
"Marriage is a service of worship in which invited guests are
not mere spectators but participants in the service. They are not
simply to watch but to be a congregation of God's people. Marriage is a
glad occasion overflowing with joy, and those celebrate it rejoice in
the gifts of God - life, health, strength, sexuality, the family-all
that the Creator declared from the beginning to be "very good".

| Tanque Verde Lutheran Church performs marriages on a regular basis. Scheduling is subject to the availability of a Pastor and the Sanctuary. Below you will find an outline of the policies regarding weddings at TVLC. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the church office at 749-1606, any time from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday. |

Policies
There will be pre-marital counseling with each couple by a pastor from TVLC. This will normally consist of 5 sessions. These will be set up between the couple and the pastor conducting your ceremony.
If the reception is held at the church, no alcoholic beverages are allowed. The wedding hostess must be used for weddings with an attendance of 40 or more people.
The wedding party must come in and complete a "contract of intent" to confirm the wedding date and cost. This must be done within 30 days of booking. If not done within 30 days, the date may be given to another couple. A sample of the contract is attached.
Scheduling of events on the wedding day will be done far enough in advance to allow for scheduling the pastor, organist, wedding hostess, custodian, etc.
All wedding fees and honorariums should be paid at the rehearsal or earlier.
Photographers are welcome. However, they should not take flash pictures during the actual service. The service is a service of worship, not a performance.
Costs
Facility Use/Custodial Services: $ 75.00 (Paid by check to TVLC)
Professional Services normally command the following honorariums which are paid directly to the individuals:
- Pastor: $200.00
- Organist: $150.00
- Wedding Hostess: $100.00
Non-Members must pay an additional $100 for facility use for the use of the Sanctuary and this should be included in the facilities use check written to TVLC.
The church office will prepare wedding bulletins for an additional $20 (for typesetting and copying), plus the cost of the bulletin paper.
Reception at TVLC
Receptions can be held at TVLC and this should be arranged at the time when the wedding is first scheduled at TVLC. A facilities use rate to cover the cost of the custodian will be arranged depending on the length of the reception. Non-Members will also be charged the non-member price on the TVLC facility use fee schedule for the use of the buildings.
