Volunteering

Volunteers are one of the most important blessings found at Tanque Verde Lutheran Church. Our volunteers are the backbone of our ministry and form a vital link in all the programs offered at the church. We invite each member, friend and guest to contribute their time and talents in many ways as the Lord leads them.

Time and Talent Forms
The data has been completely input into the computer with the exception of new members' data that comes in continuously. From the 140 individual ministry opportunities listed on the Time & Talent Forms, there is a print out now available in the front office.

All ministry leaders are encouraged to make a copy of any list that would be helpful to them and contact interested people who are not yet participating in their particular ministry area.

If you are interested in being involved in a particular ministry and have not yet been contacted, please refer to the Small Group Ministry section of the bulletin for leaders to contact, or call the church to ask who to call, 749-1606.

The Time and Talent Book has a summary of all the information from the Time & Talent Forms. Lists vary from: greeters, choir members, instrumentalists, library volunteers, assemble mailings, build homes for needy families, deliver mobile meals, deliver food baskets, web-site support, dinners-for-8 groups, prayer ministry and 100 more. This book is in the church office.

The Lay Ministry Task Team invites all ministry leaders and anyone interested, to make revisions, update or clarify the Time & Talent Forms as volunteer needs change. It is the Task Team's hope and prayer that the Time and Talent Book will grow to become a consistent and helpful resource for everyone in search of volunteers. The Lay Ministry Task Team is strategizing to find more ways to help people connect with other people and most importantly, encourage everyone to use their God-given gifts for His glory.

If you have not yet filled out a yellow Time & Talent Form, we invite you to do so. Extra copies are available in the Time and Talent Book, the narthex and the office. Once you have filled it out, please return it to the staff box in the office. Thank you!
