It’s now 2020. How long will it take you to write the correct year on documents? Or for those of us who still use them, on checks?

It’s now 2020. Are you cleaning out your closet? Your garage? Your stuff that hasn’t been used since last year? Or since the previous decade? Or since the last century?

It’s now 2020. Do you have any New Year’s resolutions? Want to exercise more? Lose weight? Sleep more? Get organized? Read more? Spend less? Save more?

It’s now 2020. Are you thinking about your future? Are you living in the past?

It’s about to be 2020. Maybe it’s time to hit pause.

P A U S E.

It’s today. What are you doing today? What are you doing with the gift of life that God has blessed you with today?

It’s today. Will you spend time in prayer? Offering thanks? Asking forgiveness? Seeking solace? Requesting wisdom? Giving praise?

It’s today. Will you spend time in reflection or reading?

It’s today. Will you watch for those who are lonely? Hurting? Sick? Hungry? Will you be the one who sees them? Who is their ally? Who is present with them? Will you be the one who cries out for those suffering from injustice?

It’s today. Will you take your vocation—your Christian calling—into your workplace? School? The grocery store? The car wash? Will you be light and life in a boisterous world?

It’s now 2020, but don’t miss out on the gift of today.
