Over 120 kids took part in this wonderful, weeklong extravaganza full of games, Bible stories, singing, videos, science experiments, and of course, snack time. Each activity highlighted the message and theme of this year’s VBS, God is good!

The planning started way back in December with a core team of staff and volunteers and before the team knew it, May was here. With enrollment filled for kids and just a few more places for volunteers, the race was on to finish before June 17, the first day of VBS. With the help of front office volunteers, one-time helpers, and the leadership of Donna and Mari, the to-do list grew shorter by the day. Generously donated supplies and shared decorations from Rincon Mountain Presbyterian Church helped set the stage for an awesome week. And, the wonderful week of learning and fun came together with a staff of more than 50 volunteers of different ages, church backgrounds, and skills.

From the small quiet moments when a child saw a quail for the first time to the big loud moments when over 150 voices shouted “GOD IS GOOD”, Vacation Bible School was a roaring success! But wait, VBS wasn’t the only thing happening at TVLC that week. We were blessed with a kind group of volunteers who taught and assisted in Sewing Camp. A small group of kids learned the basics of hand and machine sewing. Each child went home with finished projects and even received a sewing kit of their own.

A BIG “Thank You” to the staff, volunteers, helpers, members and kids who participated in making 2019 VBS and Sewing Camp an amazing experience!
