Lars is the Organist/Pianist for TVLC.

Typical day?
Lars spends a fair amount of time each day on the internet as an administrator for several music discussion forums. He also serves as a board member for the local chapter of the American Guild of Organists.

Favorite part of your job?
The congregational singing.  And being able to practice any time of the day or night.

Why work in a church?
Lars believes it was God’s calling. As a 13-year-old, his parents volunteered for Lars to play the organ in church because the regular organist was too ill to play. He was hooked for life from that moment forward.

About you?
Lars grew up in California and has a wife, Mary, and a son, who is a Tucson native.

Dogs or cats?
Lars has two large, cuddly cats named Mosi and Max.

Hidden talent?
Cooking!

Pet peeves?
People that are late or never on time.

Happiest doing when not working?
Anything related to music; checking for unknown composers, building a “virtual” library of organ music.

Inspiration?
The constant desire to keep learning something new every day.

Personal motto?
Amateur organists practice until they get all the notes right. Professional organists practice until they can’t get the notes wrong.
